One of the many challenges in life as a grown man is how to shave your face the right way? If shaving is a perpetual cycle of unsightly cuts and skin irritation, this article is for you. Despite it being a daily ritual for most men, a successful clean shave isn’t always guaranteed. Be it a razor burn, using the wrong shaving cream or a blade gone wrong, ask any male and he will have countless horror stories with battle scars to show for.

Guys, say goodbye to nicks and cuts with the right techniques, shaving creams and razor blades.
However, shaving doesn’t always have to be a nightmare. To make your morning grooming session an experience to look forward to, here are 5 useful tips that will solve your shaving woes.
#1 Don’t shave against the grain
The problem: While you may think it provides a closer shave, going against the natural direction of your facial hair can cause razor burn and ingrown hair.
What you should do: Concentrating on one side of your face, start near your sideburns and slowly drag the razor downward in the direction your facial hair grows. Use light but firm pressure.

#2 Do not add pressure to achieve a closer shave
The problem: Not only is it wrong, it’s unsafe! The blades on a razor are specifically designed and positioned to give you a close shave, and unnecessary pressure will only cause unwanted cuts.
What you should do: Take it easy and use your razor with minimal strength. If you are afraid of using safety razors, we recommend the Philips Norelco Shaver 3100 Rechargeable Electric Shaver with Pop-up Trimmer which help to protect your skin and gives a pretty good close shave at the same time
#3 Do not shave over the same area repeatedly
The problem: Shaving one spot over and over will most definitely irritate your skin. Hence, even if it seems tempting to get that particular spot right, it’s a big no-no.
What you should do: If you’re having trouble with rough spots or stubble, it may be time to change your blade.
#4 Give your skin a break
The problem: While the effects may not be immediately visible, shaving does remove the top-most layer of skin cells.
What you should do: Do try to give your poor skin a break when you can. It doesn’t hurt to allow your skin to recover whenever you can.
#5 Stay away from products containing menthol
The problem: Shaving Creams, Gel or Foam containing menthol can close your pores and stiffen your beard, and you don’t want that during a shave.
What you should do: Always make sure you use the right products to soften your skin and beard before proceeding with your routine. One of favourite products is the Jack Black Supreme Cream Triple Cushion Shave Lather
#6 Shave after a warm bath
The problem: Not prepping your skin right before a asian shave. May result in an uneven shave or cuts.
What you should do: It really helps to shave after a warm bath, or after applying a warm towel to the face, as the heat will help open up your follicles for a better shave.
If you’re looking to keep a moustache or impressive beard instead, be sure to have it shaped and trimmed regularly so it doesn’t look unruly. Go to a men’s grooming salon if you need. After all, you want to look dapper, not homeless.
#7 Moisturiser as your aftershave
The problem: After finishing your shaving regime, your skin may be dry or have some red spots. Often, one will use an aftershave that contains alcohol. This is not encouraged as alcohol will dehydrate your skin further.
What you should do: Use a good moisturiser that is gentle on skin and gently apply it over the shaved area. One of recommended shaving products is the Bulldog Mens Skincare and Grooming Sensitive Moisturizer. It helps to clam the skin with natural ingredients.
We hope you pick up a tip or two of how to shave your face the right way. Share with us if you found any effective ways to improve your asian shaving experience. Good luck gentlemen!
