Gerson and Co Original Pomade Review

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to announce this new boy (pomade) on the block from Singapore by Gerson and Co. With their first version of the Original Pomade, this brand strives to craft that perfect hair product with the great hold and shine, withstanding the humidity.

This is a very good sign as more brands around the region such as the Gold Fingers Company and The Apothecary Malaysia are looking to formulate products to combat the humid environment here in Southeast Asia.

I have personally met the founders of this brand and boy, there’s no question about their passion to ensure men like us to get the best formulated pomade. We could even talk about pomades all day long. These days, there are more hair product brands that are just white label and ride on the same formula. Gerson & CO is not one of them. Having developed their own formula, they ensure their products are well in control, from the ingredients used up to ensuring the products get into the hands of their customer safely. So, let’s waste no time and dive into them!

Design and Packaging

The design is very modern and slick. From the look and feels of it, you can tell it is premium quality for the modern gentlemen. Housed in a black amber jar, the ingredients and instruction to use are well-labeled on it. The overall product weighs at 100ml. Definitely, you can bring them onboard on a flight. A thumbs up for them for taking this into consideration.

Scent

The scent is on the sweet side like caramel, a refreshing cologne-like product that is not overpowering. I would imagine suit up gentlemen wearing these all day.

Application

The Gerson & Co Original Pomade has soft gel-like purple red texture. Scooping out was easy. It does feel similar to the Daimon Barber No. 5 Fixing Pomade

For this test, I tried it on a blow dry hair. It require around 2 finger scoops to style my (short) hair and the application was a breeze. There was no tugging during the styling process, and it definitely gives a good shine (wet) look. After a few minutes, it did not feel tight and there’s no serious hardening, the hair are well in place and holds pretty well.

Shine

Medium Shine. But becomes Matte after 4hours

Volume

It does provide a good amount of volume especially when style with hair dryer. The volume hold pretty well almost throughout the day.
