Shehvoo Sea Salt Spray Review

Shehvoo is no longer foreign here in Urban Oak. In fact, they were one of the earliest brands we have reviewed. If you haven’t check them out, we have tried the Shehvoo’s Ocean Clay and Activating Cleanser Oil, both are very unique in itself. Just last year, Shehvoo have rebranded themselves with some awesome design. Along with this rebranding, came a new product called the Sea Salt Spray, which aims to bring more texture to your hair styling. There are many sea salt or texturizing spray out there, and we are glad to have our first one from Shehvoo to get into our review list. Let’s dive in right now!

Origin

Nevada, United States

Design and Packaging

If you asked me if I preferred which version, I would the new version is much more slick! The black and white design is much more pleasant and consistent to their branding. It has a transparent cap to protect the spray mouth from being exposed.

The sea salt liquid is filled in a solid plastic bottle and weighs at 118ml. So friends, if you are looking to bring this onboard on a flight, this is not suitable as you have to check them in. Hopefully they will produce one that’s flight friendly.

Scent

The scent is pleasant, somewhat a little similar to the ocean clay. It’s not over powering, not over masculine nor feminine. It’s well balanced with a mix of sweetness with some hint of coconut.

Application

Before using the Shehvoo Sea Salt Spray, I have washed my hair and towel dried them.

With my damp hair, I spray a couple of time (around 6- 8 times) throughout. The spray works perfectly. After which, I start to blow dry my hair with some heat.

Volume

After the blow dry, I was very amazed with the results. Immediately, I could observe the texture and volume it produces. It didn’t take much effort to style it anymore because during the blow dry, I could see the formation of high volume and with some natural texture.

Strength

Medium Low

Unlike the Daimon Barber Texture Tonic, which gives more hold, the Shehvoo Sea Salt Spray is not meant to be used as a standalone styling product, especially for humid weather environment. It has to be coupled with the ocean clay together to give the best result. This product is meant as a pre-styler to help provide better volume and texture before apply the ocean clay or any other hair styling products.

However, probably it’s hold is much better in less humid countries as mention some of other reviewers.
