Introduction of Shehvoo Activating Oil Cleanser

Welcome to our second review for Shehvoo’s hair products. Just few days ago we have released Ocean Clay review.

But today, we will be looking at the Activating Oil Cleanser. Before we start, be sure to read till the end to get some exclusive discounts if you intend to purchase any of Shehvoo’s product:)

When I first look at it, my initial thought was the value of it. It’s not high in volume and the price might be a bit too steep. So i had my doubts in the beginning. According to Shehvoo, the Activating Oil Cleanser is designed not to only cleanse any dirt, impurities or excessive oils, but to balance the natural oils on your hair. This sulfate and paraben free is used both as a shampoo and conditioner. This is also a good opportunity if the two Shehvoo’s product (Ocean Clay and Sea Salt Spray) compliments with one another. So, let’s not waste anytime and dive right in now to see how it performed!

The cleanser is housed in a 118 ml plastic bottle, a very light packaging with labels that states it is sulfate and paraben free, and some simple instructions on how to use it. To unleash the cleanser, just press on the cap and there will be a small opener to allow you to pour it out.

Application & Performance Review

For application, shake well to activate the ingredients. Then pour a small quarter size amount into hands. Massage on wet and leave it around 2 mins and rinse.

On my initial application of this cleanser, I felt it was quite oily as compared to other shampoos. However, after a few rounds of usage, it feels more natural and my hair does feel a lot softer, and easier for styling. If you feel oily in your first few try, don’t be surprised. It is meant to find the balance of oil content in your hair. Despite the feeling of oiliness, it doesn’t stain any of my bed sheets when lying on it.

If you are not used to the initial oiliness, another trick is to blow dry your hair after washing, the oiliness will be gone.

This cleanser is best used every 1 -3 days. For me, I used everyday to wash my daily hair styling product – ocean clay styling product. It has also no problem cleaning water based product off. However, if you are using oil based product, the activating cleanser is not your best bet.

Another plus point is this product works fine with colour dyed hair, so don’t be afraid to try them out!

Verdict

Overall, I think this is a great product especially if you are looking for a hair product that moisturize and soften you hair, made with natural ingredients (mostly). What I have also realized is that after using both the Ocean Clay and the Activating Oil Cleanser for 2 weeks, my hair felt naturally soft and styling for me became easier! I do not need as much clay for my following day because my hair was of the two major factor – the cleanser has kept my hair soft and easy to style, while the ocean clay residue from the previous day helps to keep it in shape (and it doesn’t feel oily at all). Though I have sensitive scalp, the residue did trigger any itchiness, it feel natural.

Though the price might be a little steep, but hey, great quality comes with a price and I would say it worth every penny :)

Shehvoo – which means “hair” in french, aims to provide an healthier alternative to everyday hair care product. Dre Drexler has been very experienced in review grooming and styling product. With his knowledge and together with his brother, they decided to design a more natural hair product.
